Send The Next President To Africa!
My message to our future president, whomever it may be:
It is tempting to believe that we can understand or relate to others' experience through their stories; but it is never until we have to experience the same things or personally witness an event to be actually affected or impacted by it. Even then, our perspective of a one-time experience or as an outsider may never match those who have intimate daily encounters with situations so desperate that would leave one faithless. We can deny that we are ONE, but we can't deny the emotions we undergo when witnessing a human tragedy. Stewardship is a privilege. Some of us choose to be informed, use our voice, exercise our rights, and reach out to those in need; some choose to watch, do nothing, and feel helpless; some choose to be ignorant, give in to the presumption that we live in a hopeless world, and surrender our very rights. What would you, as the leader of our country, choose to do?
